Three key insights

Being a complete stranger to the world of leather goods, my first instinct was to go out and meet our target to understand their needs and their relationship with the subject. I conducted about ten exploratory interviews in search of insights.

From all the conversations, three strong points emerge on which Lo Pautit Chat relies.

“The perfect bag
doesn't exist”

Every woman has her own unique daily routine. A single bag can't meet all these needs. All bags will always lack something.

“The perfect bag is infinitely practical”

For a bag to be perfect, it has to be light, strong, compact, with the right compartments in the right places... it's infinitely practical.

“When I'm looking for a new bag, I first look to see if it's beautiful.”

If the bag is not practical, it will never be a "good" bag, even if it's the most beautiful. Aesthetics is a necessary but not sufficient condition.

Differentiation is key

Based on these strong observations on the functional aspect of the bag, Lo Pautit Chat's value proposition quickly took shape. To differentiate ourselves from the competition, we decided to focus on the fundamentals of the bag's role: to be the first companion that responds to all daily contingencies, a positioning that seems to be neglected by all market players.

A balanced experience:
functionality, emotionality and sociality

Quite often, the most engaging and desirable experiences are those that match all dimensions of human needs: functional, emotional and social.

The challenge is to embody this value proposition at all these levels. The fundamental basis being the physical experience of leather goods (function), the digital experience being the main body (emotion) that links with the relational experience between Pauline and its users (social).

Differentiation... the configurator is the key

The entire Lo Pautit Chat web experience is built around the configurator. It's our differentiating feature. We highlight it by making it accessible from every page on the site.

Initiating the site's integration

The few wireframes of the major pages served as a basis for discussion with Pauline to define the site's foundations and the messages to be conveyed.

At this step and today, the configuration product is not yet ready. Discussions need to be held on the actual execution of the product. We'll be able to think about digital execution once certain structuring questions have been answered.

Identity: warmth and roundness

Lo Pautit Chat's visual identity aims to be warm and welcoming. The use of warm colors and rounded shapes throughout the assets reflects Pauline's temperament. Lo Pautit Chat's social experience is essential: a welcoming atmosphere helps convey this message.
